Sufficient
I paddle out towards the sea
towards the slowly setting sun.
I turn my head and I can see
my home my wife my infant son.
Those hungry mouths I leave behind
depend on me they will be fed.
I seek the bounty I will find
the treasure from the oceans bed.
A wilful goddess is the sea
and she demands worship from me.
I sacrifice pay my respects
my simple homage she accepts.
She lets me live another day
my life is hers to take or give.
I'm just a simple fisherman
who tries to live as best he can.
The setting sun turns the sea red
now schools of fish will come to me.
Those hungry ones will now be fed
the sea provides bountifully.
My boat is full can hold no more
I raise my prayers of gratitude..
I paddle back towards the shore
none will go hungry there is food..
A simple man a simple life
each day is like the one before.
I have my home my son and wife
what need have I for any more.
